Sendy has released version 7.1, which introduces passkey sign-in, a new built-in file manager, Amazon SES Campaign Delivery Improvements, large mailing lists performance enhancement, and several security and bug fixes.
Passkey Sign-in
The biggest new feature in Sendy 7.1 is optional passkey support.
Instead of entering a password, you can sign in using your device’s built-in authentication, such as Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, your device PIN, or a hardware security key. Password login remains available, so you can continue signing in the way you already do.
Once you create a passkey in your account settings, you can even press Enter on the login page to sign in immediately.
New File Manager
Sendy 7.1 replaces the third-party Tiny File Manager with a new file manager built directly into the application.
The new tool lets you:
- Drag and drop files to upload.
- Copy direct file links.
- Rename files and folders.
- Delete files and folders.
- Manage multiple files at once with bulk actions.
The built-in file manager also removes a common issue where some antivirus and malware scanners incorrectly flagged the previous Tiny File Manager as a security threat.
Large Subscriber Lists Performance Improvement
If you manage very large mailing lists, you should notice faster loading times on the Lists page.
Sendy now uses more efficient database indexes and fewer database queries, helping the Lists page load faster, especially if you manage hundreds of thousands of subscribers.
The first upgrade may take longer than usual because MySQL needs to build new database indexes. If you manage a large installation, scheduling the update during a quieter period is recommended.
Amazon SES Campaign Delivery Improvements
If your server experiences an interruption while sending a campaign, Sendy is now better at recording sending progress, preventing duplicate emails, and allowing interrupted campaigns to resume safely.
Campaign Completion Bug Fix
Sendy 7.1 fixes an issue where a campaign could appear as finished before every intended recipient received the email.
The update keeps track of the original recipient list throughout the sending process. It also reduces the chance of multiple send workers processing the same campaign simultaneously.
Longer Login Session
You will now remain signed in after closing your browser or restarting your computer, provided your login session is still valid. Signing out or changing your password or email address will still end existing sessions immediately for security.
Other Improvements
Sendy 7.1 also includes several smaller improvements, including:
- Improved handling of emoji and other Unicode characters.
- Better preservation of HTML when editing email templates.
- Correct inheritance of privacy tracking settings when creating campaigns through the API.
- Fixes for hidden subscribe form fields when GDPR options are disabled.
- An updated geolocation database.
If you purchased Sendy before November 8, 2025, you’ll need to pay a $34 upgrade fee to install Sendy 7.1.
