Spaceship explains why Spacemail was down for maintenance

Spaceship has restored Spacemail and other services after a major outage at the RadiusDC Phoenix data center, where a storm knocked out cooling systems and pushed temperatures to unsafe levels.

The cooling failure forced RadiusDC to instruct Spaceship to take affected services offline. That disrupted website hosting, EasyWP, Spacemail, and email forwarding.

Spacemail users could not send or receive Spacemail messages during the outage. Trying to access the Spacemail dashboard threw an error that the page is under maintenance.

Spaceship says incoming emails should not have been lost. So you should expect to receive all emails that were delayed when Spaceship was offline.

Spaceship says it is now reviewing the incident and plans to add more redundancy across data centers in the US, Europe, and Asia. It also adds that it will share lessons from the outage and the resulting infrastructure changes.
