Mautic has released version 7.1.3, which fixes a bug that caused restarted campaigns to automatically send duplicate emails whenever scheduled campaign cron jobs ran. The issue was reported by multiple users after upgrading to Mautic 7.1.1.
Some users running Mautic 7.1.1 reported that double-opt-in campaigns repeatedly sent confirmation emails even after recipients had already verified their email addresses and had been moved to the correct segment.
The problem was also reported by another user who upgraded from Mautic 7.0.2 to 7.1.1. The user found that stopping and restarting a campaign caused the first email in the workflow to be sent repeatedly during every cron job execution, even though the campaign’s restart behavior had not been changed.
Mautic says the bug was caused by a section of code responsible for estimating how many contacts should be added to a campaign that failed to pass an important “allow restart” setting to one of its database checks. While the actual process that rebuilt campaign memberships used the correct setting, the preliminary count check did not. This bug was fixed in Mautic 5.0, but it led to another bug where repeated emails are sent after restarting a campaign in Mautic 7.1.1.
