Apple has released iOS and iPadOS 27 Beta 4, which fixes the mail search results problem for older emails.
Previously, if you searched for words or phrases inside the body of an email that was more than six months old, Mail might not have found it. You could still search by sender or subject, but full-content searches often failed.
After updating to version 27, you should be able to search and find the contents of older emails.
Email Content Mismatch
This fix addresses a bug where an email could display content that did not match its subject line. Previously, you might have opened an email and seen unrelated content, making it difficult to know whether you were reading the correct message. Beta 4 fixes that issue, so the email body should now match its subject as expected.
Siri Email Issues
If you asked Siri to compose an email while the Mail app was closed in the background, Siri could return an error instead of creating your message. Apple has fixed that bug.
Siri is also now better at identifying the correct contact when you ask it to call, message, or email someone. Before this update, Siri could choose the wrong person if several contacts shared the same name, if group names included emojis or special characters, or if relationship labels such as “my brother” were unclear. In some cases, Siri could even freeze while asking you to choose the correct contact.

Flight Notifications in Mail
Lastly, Apple has also fixed a bug that could incorrectly mark early flight notifications as delayed.
iOS and iPadOS 27 are currently in Beta 4 release. The fixes above are expected to be available to everyone when Apple releases iOS 27 to the public in September 2026.
