WordPress Mailchimp Integration
To integrate WordPress with Mailchimp, follow these steps.
Using the Official Plugin
- Log in to your WordPress dashboard and go to Plugins > Add New.
- Search for "Mailchimp for WordPress" and click Install Now, then Activate.
- Go to Mailchimp for WordPress > Mailchimp in your dashboard and click "Get your API key here."
- On the Mailchimp page, click Create a Key, copy the code, and paste it into the API Key field in WordPress.
- Click Save Changes to connect your account; if the connection fails, recheck that you copied the full key without spaces.
- Go to Mailchimp for WordPress > Forms, create a new form, select your Mailchimp audience, and customize the fields.
- Embed the form by adding a "Mailchimp for WordPress" block in your page editor or using the widget in your sidebar or footer.
Using Embedded Forms Without a Plugin
- Log in to your Mailchimp account, go to Audience > Signup forms > Embedded forms.
- Choose a form style (e.g., Classic or Condensed), customize fields like name and email, and include GDPR options if needed.
- Copy the generated HTML code from the code box.
- In WordPress, edit your post or page, add a "Custom HTML" block, and paste the code inside it.
- Save the page and test the form by submitting a real email; if it doesn't work, ensure you copied the entire code snippet.
WordPress Integration Benefits
Connecting WordPress with Mailchimp lets you collect subscribers directly on your WordPress site, automatically add them to your Mailchimp audience, and send targeted campaigns without manual entry.
