BC Provincial Nominee Program Email Update about Waitlisted Applicants

You are receiving this email because you submitted an application to the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program’s (BC PNP) International Post-Graduate (IPG) stream.

Due to B.C.’s significantly reduced allocation from the federal government for 2025, the BC PNP does not have enough nominations to finalize all applications that were received in 2024.

As such, all IPG applications received between September 1, 2024 and January 7, 2025 will be waitlisted and won’t be finalized until more nominations become available, likely in 2026. As your IPG application was submitted on 21 Dec 2024, your application, once assessed, will remain active and will be placed on this waitlist until more nominations become available. Please see the April 14th, 2025 news post for more information.

BC has requested to work with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to support extending work permits for applicants whose work permits will soon expire. We will update our News page when we have more information, including how to request support for a work permit extension.

B.C. continues to strongly advocate to the federal government for more nominations.

The BC PNP has tasked a dedicated team to respond to your specific inquiries during this time. If you have questions about these changes and how they impact you, please email PNPInfo@gov.bc.ca and use the following in the subject line: WAITLISTED BC PNP IPG APPLICATION FILE #. A member of our staff will contact you directly.

Thank you for your interest in immigrating to British.
